Sculpture, 2019
The genesis of this sculpture can be traced back to a simple observation: “One morning I watered my plants, and while observing them, I found they grew up. I didn’t see their growth directly, but how did I know that they are growing?” The sculpture serves as an exploration into perceiving subtle changes over time.
Designed within the framework of a room beneath a triangular roof where the plants flourish, it systematically maps the spatial and temporal dimensions. The transformation from surface to line redefines the space in accordance with time, challenging the viewer’s perception of spatial boundaries. The tangible lines in the sculpture carry implications of light and architectural information, corresponding to a temporal relationship governed by the movement of two rubber bands.
