Folded Tuning is derived from a sense of experiencing overlapped time. Dealing with the flux of time, the piece focuses on the configuration of the past, the present and the future with the process of tuning a piano. The original tuning starts with a middle tone, moves to a low tone and ends up with a high tone, thereby causing the stream of time in accordance with the pitch of the piano. For example, as a middle key is ahead of a high key, a middle pitch becomes the earlier piece of time to a high pitch.
